“’There’s a finality in fact,’ says the narrator of Adam Rapp’s Nocturne, a stunning confrontation with truth that spares neither the character or the audience. A young man identified only as the Son, makes a tragic mistake as a teenager and then attempts to come to terms with what he has done, sending ripples of change through his family and his own life. This reconciliation forms the heart and soul of Nocturne, a startling, unnerving work of art that fiercely pushes the boundaries of theater. Nocturne … is intensely lyrical, musical in its sounds and in its silences. Make no mistake. Rapp is an original — a distinctive voice unafraid to be too descriptive …” —Michael Kuchwara, Associated Press

Seth Rudetsky’s internationally acclaimed Broadway concert series that first began in Provincetown at The Art House in 2011 will debut as a weekly virtual series entitled The Seth Concert Series. Presented by Mark Cortale, the series premiered 10 years ago and is currently housed in more than a dozen major venues worldwide. In its new format, the series will continue to offer viewers a seamless mix of behind-the-scenes stories prompted by Rudetsky’s insightful, funny and revealing questions — and the music from the artists’ stellar careers. Audra McDonald is unparalleled in the breadth and versatility of her artistry, as both a singer and an actor. The winner of a record-breaking six Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards, and an Emmy Award, she was named one of TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2015 and received a 2015 National Medal of Arts — America’s highest honor for achievement in the arts — from President Barack Obama. Blessed with a luminous soprano and an incomparable gift for dramatic truth-telling, she is as much at home on Broadway and opera stages as she is in roles on film and television. In addition to her theatrical work, she maintains a major career as a concert and recording artist, regularly appearing on the great stages of the world.

Our Neighborhood News Team Challenge is an interactive activity that combines our classic Scavenger Hunt and our innovative Movie Making Teambuilding challenge. Think cool technology meets good old-fashioned fun. For this competition, teams will put together a video showing us their favorite San Diego neighborhood and why they think it’s the best. So, channel your inner Steven Spielberg or Ron Burgandy. This activity is all about getting outside and including as many historical landmarks, colorful public art, murals, businesses, unique landscaping and other hidden nuggets that set their favorite neighborhood apart. Teams will be coached by a former TV News Reporter on how to craft a story and use their smartphones to shoot and edit. Just like a real news team, they’ll have to work together to finish the assignment on time. Who will be the on-air talent? Who will produce? Who will be the editor? Teams will be judged on creativity, resourcefulness and uniqueness by a panel of journalists.

This new online program is kicking off with a modern parallel — plagues. Shakespeare experienced at least 5 plagues during his lifetime and wrote several of his plays when the theaters were closed due to the epidemics. What were the effects? How did the people cope in 1595, 1603, etc.? For this session, we will examine what stopped the Friar from delivering a very important note in Romeo and Juliet? Join facilitator Neva Hutchinson in exploring the plague experience in Shakespeare’s world. During the first 20-minutes of the sessions we’ll explore the ins and outs of the plagues and how it affected specific works. The remaining portion of the sessions will be a group discussion and a time to get your Shakespearian questions answered! In the full series, we will focus on four different Shakespearean plays, written during epidemics: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, and King Lear. Registering for this event enrolls you ONLY for Romeo & Juliet on July 19.

Since we can’t go outside, let’s look within…OUR CLOSETS! Welcome to what I call a Mindful Closet Audit. During this virtual experience, I will guide you on how to not only be present with the clothing that you already own, but also how to mindfully release those pieces that no longer serve the person you have become and would like to be. We will go a step further than Marie Kondo’s process of asking “Does it bring me joy?” to ask the deeper question “Does it fit the (style) story I’d like to tell?” Using my background as a fashion designer, educator and enthusiast, I have crafted a series of exercises that will help reintegrate and reset the relationship between your body, soul and style choices. Together we will create a manageable framework that you can use to consciously design the wardrobe of your dreams. This pandemic has been really scary for all of us, join me and let’s try to find the silver (coat?) lining in this gift of a pause from our regular schedules and uninspired style ruts.
Do you love One Tree Hill? Here is your opportunity to have some fun playing our live One Tree Hill trivia game. You will also get to socialize and make other friends from the safety and comfort of your home. Prize will be a Amazon Gift card, free future events and maybe some other goodies. Wednesday Knight came to Hollywood with stars in her eyes , or maybe that was dirt from her cross country hitchhiking trip. Either way she knew she had found her niche. She rose to fame as Kelly Bundy’s stunt double on Married With Children ( the censors had to cut all her scenes because even Fox didn’t like the blatant Al punching his daughter angle ) The blows to her head not only strengthened her artistically but also gave her wonderful visions of colorful blurs she treasures to this day. She can be found entertaining sold out rapt audiences everywhere but regularly at Beverly/ La Brea outside of Pinks daily from 11-1 and 7- whenever the police ask her to go away. You can see her now host her highly not viewed talk show, The Wednesday Knight Show, where her guests are truly famous, infamous and soon-to-be’s. Every Wednesday at 6pm PST/9pm EST on her Facebook page and twitch WednesdayKnight channel Wednesday is truly a legend in her own mind and is the most famous person no one has ever heard of!

Eliances provides a unique outlet for some of the most influential and intellectual individuals throughout the Valley to foster business relationships. We are not a group, village, networking, mastermind, peer group, peer advisory group, chamber, association, hub or club. Eliances is a destination “Where Entrepreneurs Align™” The community hosts weekly ROUNDtable meetings enabling entrepreneurs and inventors alike to collaborate and help each other with ventures. The ROUNDtable is one of the puzzle pieces of Eliances where action takes place. A Valley CEO explained that “Eliances moves networking from a passive exercise to active engagement. At its core, Eliances is as much about what can one contribute as what can one receive, and fundamentally it’s that balance between give and get that creates true value.” It brings together a “high-level community of hybrid entrepreneurs with resources, influence, skills, contacts and imagination.” There is no other community structured by the implications and operations that comprise Eliances. Eliances operates on what they refer to as the 3G methodology™: Got, Give and Get. Every week, each attendee is given a 60-second window of time in which to pitch their respective G’s. This high pressure scenario allows Eliances members to analyze and optimize the caliber of attendance each week; because regardless an individual’s status, there is no guarantee an invite to the next event.
